What is Trace?
Trace helps you automatically save where you parked your car and find your way back using radar, AR, or Apple Maps. It also lets other drivers reach you safely via a personal QR “Trace Tag” on your windshield — no phone numbers exchanged.
How does auto-save work?
Trace uses your phone's motion sensors and GPS to detect when you stop driving and walk away from your vehicle. When that happens, we save your spot automatically and notify you. No need to remember to open the app before parking.
Why isn't Auto-Save working?
Auto-Save needs “Always” location permission and Motion & Fitness access. You can verify these in iOS Settings → Trace. The system also needs sustained driving (at least 80 meters) before treating a stop as a park, so very short trips may not auto-save. You can always tap “I'm Parked Here” manually.
What is Trace+?
Trace+ is our subscription tier ($0.99/month) that unlocks unlimited Trace Locate usage, unlimited messages, and priority support. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled in your Apple ID settings. You can manage or cancel anytime via apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
How do I delete my account?
In the Trace app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Your profile, messages, vehicles, and all associated data will be removed within 30 days. You can also email us at support@trace.xyz if you need assistance.
How does AR Find My Car work?
Open Trace Locate, then tap “AR View” while outdoors. Your camera will display a floating teal beacon at your saved car's location. The mode (geo-anchored or bearing) is shown at the top of the screen. For best results, use AR mode outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
